LOBSTICK OPEN
June13-14
Waskesiu
The Waskesiu Golf Course, home of the Lobstick, is looking forward to this year’s Open. Designed by Stanley Thompson in 1935, the golf course is unique as the Northern Forest surrounds every hole. This distinctive layout, along with undulating fairways, and fast breaking greens, make Waskesiu a favourite to play. Attracting Amateur’s and Professional’s from across Western Canada, makes this one of the elite events in Saskatchewan. The Lobstick Open is one of the few tournaments which has Amateur’s and Professionals competing in a two day medal play event. A rich history of past champions including Gordie Howe, Pat Fletcher and Dr. Bob Reid are just some of the famous names to grace the Championship Trophy. The Lobstick is welcoming Conexus and Great Western Breweries as sponsors of the event which has been ongoing since 1935.

 RGC

The Outlook Riverview Golf Club returns as the Host of the CPGA of Saskatchewan Best Ball Championship for the 20thconsecutive year. The event is a favorite on the Saskatchewan Tour Schedule for many of the members, due in part to the layout which although short in relative length is a perfect risk reward course suited for the Best Ball format. The event is also renowned for the excellent course conditions provided by Superintendent Cathy Morrow and the traditional serving of Doc’s ribs, courtesy of our Executive Director/Host Professional Ken Morrow. Originally contested in a Head Pro/Assistant format the event switched in to a new format where any two members could play as a team.  Although several have been repeat winners over the years, no team has been able to successfully defend the title. Dean Brown and Jeff Gross will attempt to be the first team to do just that in 2011.  Longtime Zone supporter Golf Supply House returns as the sponsor. Golf Supply House is a wholesale distributor of golf equipment and supplies to golf courses, pro shops, golf stores, driving ranges, repair shops, miniature golf parks and promotional companies.
