Brown Captures Spring Championship

Dean Brown of the Royal Regina Golf Club birdied the first playoff hole to capture the 2008 Taylor Made Spring Championship held at the Willows Golf and Country Club.  Brown defeated John Slusar from Nipiwan in a playoff after firing 67 to make up ground on the co-leader Slusar.  John Slusar and Scott Knapp shared the first round lead after firing rounds of 70.  Knapp finished the day one shot out of the playoff and in solo third.

This years event which was also co sponsored by Golf Supply House and National Leasing was a great success.  Host Professional Brennan Gee did a wonderful job and all his staff should be commended for the excellent job they did in hosting this years event.

Melfort Wins ProLady; Two tie in Pro Division

The Melfort Golf and Country club, lead by CPGA Professional Todd Zado, won the 2008 Pro Lady hosted by Elk Ridge Resort.  Once again this year, the Elk Ridge Resort was the star.  The weather cooperated making for a great day on the golf course for the 28 teams from around the province.

Host professional Ryan Danberg and Sask Landing's Jeff Gross tied for low professional with great rounds of 69.  Josh Opheim of Moon Lake Golf and Country Club finished 3rd at 71.

Brown Captures 2008 Season Opener

CPGA Professional Dean Brown, of the Royal Regina Golf Club,  captured the first event of the 2008 season winning the RBC Open in Nipiwan by 7 shots.  Brown shot rounds of 67-71 at the Evergreen Golf Club in perfect spring conditions.   Tim Ancaster, the 2007 Sask Jr Champion from North Battleford, finished second with rounds of 74-71. 

The RBC Open pits the best amatuers and golf professionals from around the province against one another in one of the only open events on the schedule.  It is gaining in popularity each year and Dean Prosky and Tyler Baker have done a wonderful job organizing this event.
