3 Players Pass Fall PAT

The CPGA of Saskatchewan would like to congratulate and welcome the three new members of the CPGA who successfully completed their playing ability tests at Dakota Dunes.  Tyler Volk joins his father Randy and grandfather John, as the third generation of Volks in the CPGA of Saskatchewan.  Then other new members of the PGA are Ryley McNaught and Clyton Giesbecht both from the Willows Golf Club.

All the players in the PAT were forced to endure extremely high winds on day one.  Dakota Dunes showed its mean side.  Congratulations to those who survived.

Volk / Holoboff win the Golf Supply House Pro/Pro

Randy Volk and Bryan Holoboff, both from the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club won the Golf Supply House Pro / Pro event hosted by the Outlook Golf Club.  They beat a strong field on a very blustery hot day.  The Outlook golf course was in great condition and the meal was easily the best of the year.  Host Professional Ken Morrow and his wife Kathy should be commended for a job well done.

Gross wins 2009 CPGA of Saskatchewan Championship

Jeff Gross from Swift Current defeated Ryan Danberg on the 3rd hole of a sudden death playoff to win the 2009 CPGA of Saskatchewan Championship presented by Oakcreek and Acushnet Canada.  Gross birdied the 3rd hole a Prince Alberts Cooke Municipal Golf course to claim the title.  This was his first CPGA Championship and was the third consecutive year that Ryan Danberg has lost the title in a playoff.  Congratulations to Ryan as well.

Gross beat a field of 33 CPGA Professionals from all across the province on a golf course that was a true test.  The wind blew hard for the first two rounds and then died down for the third and final round which was a battle to the end.  Host Professional Danny Jutrus did a great job getting the golf course ready for the pros to play.  The greens staff should be commended on a job well done.

Mark Patterson also captured the Senior title while Sloan Harder won the Assistants Championship in a playoff over Dean Brown.  Both titles were contested in conjunction with the Championship.

The CPGA of Saskatchewan would like to thank the Co-sponsors of the event, Oakcreek and Acushnet Canada for there continued support
